Last season, Quotidian Theatre Company mounted productions of Eugene O’Neill’s “The Iceman Cometh,” Brian Friel’s “Faith Healer” and Conor McPherson’s “The Veil,” all workmanlike efforts or better.
The small Bethesda troupe, now in its 17th season, gravitates toward big plays with lush literary texts. Quotidian’s physical productions can underwhelm, limited in part by a small venue and a tight budget. But when the acting clicks in a well-rehearsed cast, their shows can engage an audience fully on words alone.
